Our Story
From Heart-Breaking Destruction to a Bright New Beginning
This is our story
When deadly Hurricane Ian roared ashore in September of 2022, it proved to be the third-costliest weather disaster world-wide, leveling homes, smashing businesses, and taking 161 lives. Fort Myers and nearby Cape Coral and Naples bore the brunt of Ian’s powerful winds and storm surge. People were trapped on their roofs and on Sanibel and Pine Islands when the storm demolished the causeways.
Most people would have given up. Not us.
Under our former name – The Iona Ranch – we opened our gates to FEMA trailers and people’s personal RVs so they could have a safe haven while rebuilding their homes.
One affected resident of coastal Florida wrote us this letter, “Hurricane Ian really wrecked our coastline, island communities, and our lives, but we will not give up. Down here we are strong, and we will build back and work together for as long as it takes to do so. I am grateful for all the people who have been a part of helping us recover from the tragedy. This park is a Blessing and I am thankful to be able to stay here.”
Southern Breeze
Same location, but even better and stronger
We are thankful for all the friends we made before the storm and during the recovery process. Now that Fort Myers is looking forward to a bright future, we are pleased to offer resort-style living in Southwest Florida. Our NEW sturdy, safe raised homes are designed to protect our 55+ community even better.
