Edison and Ford Winter Estates
Both Thomas Edison and Henry Ford were snowbirds! They came to Fort Myers to escape the cold. Visit their historic winter homes, the Museums, acres of gardens, the Botanic Research Laboratory, the Garden Shoppe, and the Gift Shop every day of the week. Free parking!
IMAG History and Science Center
IMAG is a hands-on science and aquarium museum. Exhibits include dinosaurs and fossils, Calusa culture, live native and non-native small animals, aquariums and touch tanks, and interactive displays about science and scientific topics. Fun for kids and grandparents too!
Fish the Caloosahatchee River
This salt water river meanders 67 miles from the Everglades to the Gulf of Mexico. Fish from the one of the many docks that line this waterway or charter a fishing tour. Big fun for fisher folks!
Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve
A long, narrow wetland that is home to alligators, turtles, otters, and wading birds. See them all from the mile-long boardwalk. Bring your camera and enjoy a picnic lunch in the butterfly garden. It’s a real ‘Old Florida’ experience!
